Inspiration: Rediscovering Creativity in the Midst of the Daily Hustle
Running a small business is more than a full-time job—it’s an all-encompassing role that demands wearing “all the hats” - from managing financials to handling marketing, photographing products, and keeping up with social media, there’s always something that needs attention.
I love what I do but have realized my creative “playtime” has been pushed to the back burner, and I’ve missed it! My art practice has always been a source of energy and inspiration, fueling not just my work in the shop but my outlook on life in general.
The other day, while organizing my studio, I found myself instinctively sorting my ever-growing pile of fabric scraps by color and size. What started as a simple task turned into a moment of creative flow—I began experimenting with scrappy quilt blocks - a wonderful way to repurpose fabric remnants that might otherwise go to waste.
This small but meaningful exploration has sparked new ideas, including incorporating quilted fabric scraps into the front panels of our bags. Sustainability has always been a core value in my business, and finding ways to upcycle materials in a fresh, exciting way feels like the perfect blend of purpose and play.
I’m eager to see where this journey leads, and more than anything, I’m grateful for the reminder that even the smallest moments of creativity can reignite passion and purpose.
