#52weeksofprint - February LookBook

The February theme was "Tea Pots & Tea Cups". This month was a bit of a challenge as I typically sketch motifs which are inspired by nature more so than objects.

I found the "Tea Pots & Tea Cups" shapes a bit harder to work with in terms of making a repeat pattern. In general, because the shape of an object is fixed I found it difficult to design a pattern without creating odd gaps in spacing. The shapes (at least the objects I selected) tended not to fit into each other well... florals and organics are a bit more flexible in terms of design as you can manipulate the shape slightly to fit your design intent and it will not look "off". 

Week 6 was a my favorite design of the month. The nesting tea cups created a nice compact motif which was more easily rendered into a pattern than the other shapes.
