News - How Letting Go Leads to More Giving, Repurposing & Sharing
Did you know “National Give Something Away Day” is July 15th? I know, yet another “made-up” holiday for the benefit of social media. Believe me, we also did an eye roll lol 🙄…but then again.
With a bit more thought and intention, I decided, why not take this as an opportunity - to actually contribute in a meaningful way.
At first glance, this might sound simple: donate a few unused items or pass along something to someone in need. At the shop, we believe there’s something much deeper—and far more powerful—behind the gesture.
Giving something away isn’t just about letting something go—it’s about leaning into the idea of repurposing, reusing and recycling. These are at the heart of what the shop is all about. Our CORE values of releasing, re-imagining, and renewing are perfectly attuned to the spirit of this day.
Giving with Purpose
Every day in our shop, we’re surrounded by objects that tell stories—handmade, repurposed, and recycled items that began in one form and were lovingly transformed into something beautiful and useful again.
That’s the same spirit behind intentionally donating or gifting items that no longer serve you. Whether it’s a cozy blanket that once warmed your evenings or a set of tea cups that no longer match your style—when you let go with care, you allow someone else to pick up that story and continue it.
Our Commitment
Every time you step into our shop, you’re stepping into a space that honors craftsmanship, sustainability, and the joy of small-scale giving. We believe every item here—whether new or made from something old—has the potential to spark joy and purpose.
So this July 15th, we invite you to celebrate the art of letting go. Give something away, make space for something new, and trust that the things you release might become someone else’s treasure.
Fabric Donation Call To Action
We’re embracing the power of reuse, repurpose, and thoughtful giving all month long.
Do you have fabric you’re no longer using? It could be an article of clothing, a table cloth, a set of curtains, a bed cover, anything as long as it’s fabric.
This July, we’re accepting donations of clean, undamaged fabric for a special reuse project. Your fabric might be transformed into a one-of-a-kind tote bag or accessory—and if it’s selected, you’ll receive 50% off that item should you want to bring it home.
