News - Four Years In Hudson

Four years ago I opened the door to this little shop.

If I’m being honest, opening a gift shop was not “on my radar”. It was not something I pined about for years - it definitely wasn’t part of a long term plan.

Instead I let life unfold. I was open to something new and with each year of growth and change, the idea of opening a shop evolved into something real.

I started my creative practice as a means of escaping a stressful sales career - a hobby that led to doing fairs/markets which eventually a few years later pointed me towards opening a storefront.

Once I had arrived at the decision, I needed to build my confidence and business skill set so applied to a business accelerator program and was accepted. I will forever be grateful for the Entrepreneurship For All program for helping get my little venture off the ground

So I took a leap of faith and opened the shop - something small, something rooted in community and built around a set of values which are not only important to me personally but are what drive all of the decisions behind the shop.

Over the past four years, this little space has become so much more than a store. It’s become a place where people come to find unique and thoughtful gifts that feel personal — items made by artists, mostly local women-owned businesses, and makers who pour their heart and soul into what they create.

It’s also become a place for connection — neighbors stopping in to say hello, and customers who have become friends. For all of that, I am deeply grateful.

April 1st, marks our official “4 Year Anniversary” - to celebrate the shop will be hosting a celebration event on Saturday April 4th— a way for me to celebrate this milestone with the community that made it possible. Stay tuned.
