We are living in surreal times - who could have predicted that in a very short span of time, most of the world would be living in isolation from each other.

An invisible enemy - known yet not understood, has forever changed the way in which we go about our daily lives. Each day we are headed into uncharted territory with uncertain outcomes.

Yet despite this, there is hope. Folks are coming together and supporting each other. This is how we will survive, when we pull T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R

It seems frivolous to be talking about art (and my handmade business) during these strange days. Art is to many people a luxury, it is "non-essential" - even in normal times.

When so many folks are concerned about the financial impact of the virus and putting food on the table, the sentiment is totally understandable. As an artist, it is difficult to ask someone to invest in a handmade bag when there are other more important priorities.

So how does art fit in when the world is in crisis? It is important to note, art is so much more than an actual physical thing. It is the act of creation- the resulting joy and feeling of accomplishment, that makes the creative process so powerful. Art whether you are creating it or viewing it, can provide hope and healing to an individual or to a larger community.

So my message today is - art is necessary and important but also does not have to cost money. I am reaching out to you in hopes of sharing a few simple and free ways on how to incorporate art into the coming days. Stay tuned via Instagram or my email newsletter for more information.

All the best - Sarah
