News - Road To Launch
Just a quick update on my progress. The above represents a small sampling of some of the patterns and colorways I am considering for my new fabric line. I have finalized a color palette and I am now assigning the correct numerical value to each as well as reworking the scale of each pattern repeat.
The scale is important as I envision these patterns for mostly home decor use. The pattern motifs must be big enough to render on a larger piece of yardage (i.e. drapery and light upholstery) yet also be sized appropriately to work well on accent pillows, napkins, placemats and table cloths. Finding that perfect balance is proving to be challenging. Hopefully soon I will be able to view actual samples of each design on the ground fabric I have selected.
There were many options to consider when selecting the ground fabric, ultimately I wanted a natural fabric which would not only wear well but give that "luxury" look and feel. I will be launching my initial collection using a 100% linen base cloth in Optic White. Linen has a beautiful hand - soft to the touch, durable, resists fading and holds dye well. More to follow as the road to launch continues....
