New - Winter Window Display - "Peace On Earth"

I take great pride in creating unique and inspiring window displays for my shop. I am blessed to have two beautiful picture windows and with every new design I am looking for immaginative ways in which to engage and delight all that pass by.

This winter season I selected “Peace on Earth” as my theme. As with my holiday window last year, I used non traditional colors (no red and green here!) and incorporated upcycled and found materials. I love working within a limitation as it tends to spark my problem solving “gene” which always (so far at least…) has resulted in my most inspired designs.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the materials I used:

1) Ream of copy paper, $3.50 (Staples) - With this I sketched, painted then cut out 165 paper doves (windows and throughout shop)

2) Willow wreath, $3.50 (Savers)

3) Fill - leaves, twigs, long grass, $0 (my yard)

4) Fill - white/ivory artificial leaves, $5.60 (Michaels, 80% off Halloween bin)

5) Stool - picked this up from Savers a few years ago, $5.99 painted it white ($0 for my current window since I already owned it)

6) Globe - found this at an antique shop in Lawrence last year, used it in my Fall 2023 window, paid $11 ($0 for my current window since I already owned it)

7) Wire, $6.99 (Lowes)

8) “Gifts” boxes I collected from shipments. Wrapping paper is kraft paper that I screen printed

9) My time…alot but worth every minute. The design and execution of my displays give me great personal joy and satisfaction. If the end results help attract customers then that is a WIN no matter the time I spent creating it ✨👏

It is totally possible to create something magical with next to $0. A little creativity and lots of planning are the key.
